Travel Itinerary

Day 1 – Drive to Qom, Salt Lake and Salt Dome, Kashan Cultural Tour

In the morning:
This morning we will leave Tehran at 6:00 to start our Iran Desert Tour. We’ll stop at Fanoos restaurant shortly to have breakfast (1:30 h, 70 km) and then drive to Hoz-e Soltan Salt Lake (1h, 80 km). The amazing Hoz-e Soltan Salt Lake is known as the largest natural mirror in the world. We’ll spend a while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake, watching the reflection of the sky in the water and taking photos. Our next stop is Thaghrud Salt Dome (1h, 60 km). This stunning natural wonder is the only symmetrical salt dome in the world and one of the most beautiful attractions in Qom. Afterwards, we will get to our traditional hotel in Kashan. We’ll be served herbal tea and have lunch.

In the afternoon:
After getting some rest, we’ll start the Kashan Cultural Tour to visit some of the historical attractions in Kashan. We’ll visit Tabatabai House and Borujerdi House, two of the magnificent traditional houses in Kashan. Our last stop is Agha Bozorg mosque, one of the most unique monuments left from the Qajar era and the epitome of Persian arts and architecture. We’ll get back to our hotel, have dinner and rest.

In the morning:
Today we’ll leave the hotel after having breakfast at 8:00 to continue our Kashan Cultural Tour to visit the rest of the attractions in Kashan. Our first stop is the dynamic traditional bazaar of Kashan, where we’ll spend a couple of hours shopping and buying souvenirs. Then we’ll visit Fin garden, one of the nine verdurous Persian gardens considered as a world heritage. The freshening atmosphere of this garden will definitely charge you up.

In the afternoon:
After having lunch in one of the famous traditional restaurants of Kashan, we’ll continue sightseeing in Kashan. We’ll visit the underground city of Nushabad. Dating back to almost 1500 years ago, this underground city is one of the most interesting attractions in Kashan. Later on, we’ll start the Iran Desert Tour and head to Abuzeidabad Desert (1h, 50 km), have dinner and spend the night in a very atmospheric traditional hotel in the heart of Iran Deserts.

Day 3 – Abuzeidabad Desert Tour

In the morning:
Today we’ll leave the hotel at 8:00 and head to visit the fascinating sand dunes and spend an hour off-roading in Abuzeidabad Desert. Afterwards, we’ll visit Karshahi Castle, a lesser known but magnificent mudbrick structure dating back to more than 1500 years ago. This impressive castle is the jewel of the desert and one of the largest mud-brick structures in the world. Next, we’ll have a delicious homemade meal in Kaghazi Village.

In the afternoon:
After getting some rest, we’ll continue the desert tour and leave the village to visit Shah Abbasi Caravanserai. This historic caravanserai is one of the most important monuments dating back to the Safavid era. It was used by the convoys passing the Silk Road to rest. Later on, we’ll watch the mesmerizing sunset landscape in the desert and ride camels, no doubt it will turn to one of the memorable highlights of Iran Desert Tour. Then we’ll spend a while having tea by the fire, socializing, telling stories and sharing experiences with others. We’ll end the day by getting back to our traditional hotel.

Day 4 – Abyaneh Village, drive back to Tehran

In the morning:
This morning at 8:00 we’ll head to Abyaneh Village after breakfast (1h, 60 km). Abyaneh is one of the most unique villages in Iran and one of the oldest in the central part of the country. This beautiful village is famous for its unique structure and red clay houses. We will try to explore culture, architecture and history in this small village located in Iran’s central desert as much as we can.

In the afternoon:
We’ll have lunch in the village and after having some rest we head back to Tehran (3-4 h, 330 km). You’ll be dropped off at your requested location upon arrival.

When is the best time for traveling to Iran?
Generally, April and May are the best months for traveling to Iran. The second high season period for traveling to Iran is from September to mid-November. It’s recommended to book your Iran tour 3 to 6 months in advance if you want to travel to Iran during the high season. The weather is rather hot at this time of the year (30-35 degrees); however, this won’t be a problem as vehicles and hotels are equipped with air conditioner. When is the best time to book an Iran tour?
The high season for visiting Iran depends on the type of Iran tour you choose. The best time for Iran cultural/ historical tours is during April and May. However, from September to mid-November is also a great time for traveling to Iran. On the other hand, if you choose one of the Iran trekking tours, your trip must be in summer. The high season for Iran desert tours is from March to mid-May and in October and December. Furthermore, the skiing season in Iran begins in December and ends in April.
