A deeper way to see Iran
Explore more than 7,000 years of Persian history and culture.
A cultural journey connects Iran’s celebrated monuments with the people, traditions and everyday experiences that give those places meaning.
Iran has an ancient history and a remarkably diverse culture. Across the country, archaeological landscapes, UNESCO-listed places, gardens, palaces, mosques, traditional houses and civic architecture reveal many chapters of Persia’s story. Travellers interested in history, art and architecture can move between major landmarks while learning how ideas and empires travelled across the region.
The experience is also about the present. Iran is home to many regional identities, languages, beliefs and traditions. Time with local people, markets, cuisine and neighbourhood life helps visitors understand the country beyond its monuments and experience the hospitality for which Iranians are widely known.
These journeys are designed as comprehensive introductions to Iranian culture and history. An expert guide brings context to the route, while private-trip flexibility makes room for the themes, places and pace that matter most to you.

Frequently asked questions
Practical answers before you choose a cultural tour.
The essentials on timing, accommodation, group size, itinerary flexibility, safety, visas and spending money—updated for the 2026 edition.
01
What is the best time for travelling to Iran?
April and May are especially popular for cultural travel, with September to mid-November another comfortable window. Summer can work well for mountain trips, while air-conditioned transport and hotels make cultural routes possible in warmer periods. Booking three to six months ahead gives the best choice of dates and accommodation.
02
When is the best time to book an Iran tour?
The ideal timing depends on the journey. Cultural tours are most popular in April, May, September and early November; mountain trekking is generally a summer activity; desert trips are best from March to mid-May and from October into December; ski trips usually operate from December to April. For the broadest choice, plan three to six months ahead.
03
Is Iran a safe destination for travellers?
Many visitors describe Iran as welcoming and value the hospitality they encounter. Conditions, entry rules and official travel advice can change, however. Review the current guidance issued by your government and discuss the latest practical situation with the operator before booking and departure.
04
Can I change the itinerary?
Private journeys are flexible and can be adapted around your interests, pace and arrival plans. Group departures follow a shared schedule, so only minor changes are usually possible after the route is confirmed.
05
Which type of accommodation is best in Iran?
Iran offers modern hotels, guesthouses and atmospheric boutique stays in restored traditional buildings. Where the route allows, a traditional boutique hotel is a rewarding way to experience local architecture and hospitality.
06
What accommodation is included on a cultural trip?
Cultural packages generally use bed-and-breakfast twin or double rooms in carefully selected three- or four-star accommodation. Depending on the destination and availability, the team can recommend either traditional boutique properties or modern hotels.
07
How large are the tour groups?
Scheduled cultural groups are usually kept below ten travellers. Private tours can be arranged for almost any party size, while larger groups receive additional guide support where appropriate.
08
How long does an Iran visa take and what does it cost?
Processing commonly takes around two weeks for many nationalities, while applications for travellers from the United States, United Kingdom and Canada may take one to two months or longer. Visa support is included with these tour packages; fees and rules vary, so review the current Iran visa guide before booking.
09
How much cash should I bring?
Accommodation, entrance fees and in-country transport are included when listed in your package. If meals are not included, many travellers budget roughly €10–€20 per day for food, plus personal spending for drinks, souvenirs and optional experiences. Confirm the latest payment guidance before departure.
